Church in Regency England

Church of England - Anglican Church in Regency England

Links of the Regency At Christian Regency

The power of the church during the Regency was strong. Parishes were well-attended and maintained an influence in the local communities.

Yet, the Evangelical Movement sought to revive Spirituality, in a world 'too often in want' of material things. This movement encouraged the personal reading of Scriptures, family prayers, grace before eating, and regular Sunday worship attendance.

This time also gave rise to heterodox challenges, with the start of Mormonism (in America) and other sects.
