How-to books, advice columns, lists of do\u2019s and don\u2019ts abound. God\u2019s word has much great advice, and &#8220;secrets&#8221; abound, especially about loving. Choose kindness, even when he doesn\u2019t earn or deserve it. Think back to <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"wedding\" src=\"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn3.google.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR5B-Z5DunZC_3dBHKi9WhQLBeREydd-Xvouw8VKmOfGofcQ-qqfw\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"285\" \/>how you both showed each other your best during courtship and engagement, were you ever sour, moody, or impatient then?<\/p>\n<p>Be <strong>tenderhearted<\/strong> toward him and his failings. Love covers a multitude of sins (failings), so \u201cput on the <em>love cover<\/em>\u201d(1Peter 4:8) when your husband\u2019s weaknesses affect you. An unexpected smile can go a long way toward softening hearts.<\/p>\n<p>A <strong>forgiving <\/strong>attitude will bring peace of mind and peace in your marriage. Try <em>forgiving in advance<\/em> and not even entering into a dispute or criticism though you are in the right. He will be so relieved that you \u201clet him off the hook\u201d. You will be amazed at the peace that will dwell in your relationship. This forgiving in advance is sometimes called <strong>forbearance<\/strong>. God\u2019s forbearing love chose us to be his children, and we should not aspire to anything less.<\/p>\n<p>\u2026 <em>This was to show God\u2019s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. <\/em>Romans 3: 25b<\/p>\n<p>Just touching on scripture\u2019s rich words on forbearing love can inspire us to imitate Christ\u2019s love <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" title=\"sewing tools\" src=\"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn2.google.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRadOtpFxo7OkF9FTgNpnaCS_Yrby6WFdS3z4wbxZqRpclIBEWL0g\" alt=\"\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" \/>toward our God-given husbands.
