Since then she has published continuously with 18 novels to her credit and four novellas.<\/p>\n<p>In the last couple of years, she has turned to writing regencies with a Christian tone. These have found a home with Love Inspired Historicals. She has four LIH regencies to date. Her latest, <em>The Captain&#8217;s Courtship<\/em>, is out this month. For a chance to win it, please leave a comment today.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/christianregency.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/2-border-swirls.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1101 aligncenter\" title=\"2-border-swirls\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/christianregency.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/2-border-swirls.jpg?resize=240%2C50\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"50\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<h2>What drew you to write during the Regency Time Period?<\/h2>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">I loved to read growing up, but by the time I reached college, it had been awhile since I\u2019d found a book to truly engage me.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">Then I stumbled upon Elizabeth Mansfield\u2019s <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\"><em>The Phantom Lover<\/em><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\"> at my library.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">I couldn\u2019t put it down!<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">I\u2019d always wanted to be a writer, but I knew then I wanted to write a book in this wonderful time period called the Regency.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">I loved that the era had its own language, with an interplay between men and women that was so elegant and witty!<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">Twenty-two stories later, and I still love that period!<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #1f497d; font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\"> <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">is actually set before the strict definition of the Regency, in 1805.<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">But that time definitely has the same flavor, whether in clothes or social sensibilities.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">I chose the year for the Everard Legacy series, of which this is the second book, because the series needed a time that would give rise to a true villain, someone who threatened my characters\u2019 happiness, their faith, and their freedom.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">Who better than Napoleon and his henchmen?<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">In 1805, England was certain \u201cthe Corsican Monster\u201d meant to invade at any moment, and he was certainly trying to comply!<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div><span style=\"color: #1f497d; font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">3.<\/span><span style=\"color: #1f497d; font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Who is your favorite Regency Author?<\/h2>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">I couldn\u2019t possibly list just one!<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">Elizabeth Mansfield is probably my all-time favorite, as I mentioned.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">Love Inspired is publishing a number of wonderful authors such as Louise M. Gouge (whom I see you had on recently!), Deborah Hale, Mary Moore, and Abby Gaines.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">I\u2019m really excited that Cheryl Bolen will have a new book out in October.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">And this blog is blessed with so many talented authors!<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">Those of us who love Regency romances have a lot to look forward to!<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #1f497d; font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #1f497d; font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma,sans-serif;\">4<\/span>. What is your favorite Regency expression?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">I have several:\u00a0 having a nice coze for sitting down and chatting with a good friend, piffle as a sign of disappointment, and here-and-therian, a fellow who won\u2019t commit to anything, who traveled about with no set home or preferred to chase women rather than catch them.\u00a0 See what I mean about a language all its own?<\/span><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"color: #1f497d; font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<h2>5. The girl needs a sponsor, like lovely widow Lady Claire Winthrop-the woman who jilted Richard years ago. <\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> Claire believed herself sensible in marrying a well-to-do viscount rather than a penniless second son. How deeply she regretted it! Now their fortunes are reversed, and Richard&#8217;s plan will help settle her debts and secure his inheritance.
